Our History
Four years ago we launched the Women in Business Breakfast Series, which has gone on to become
the premier networking forum for Queensland's female business owners and managers.
The inaugural 2006 Women in Business Awards built on this success by providing formal recognition
of the achievements of the state's business women and the increasingly important role they are
playing in the community.
While there are other awards programs for women in business, qbr's awards are truly unique.
Firstly, our Women in Business Awards recognise leading business women across key industry
categories from Agriculture to Tourism & Hospitality.
And secondly, they are more than just an awards night, with the landmark Women in Business Annual
showcasing Queensland's most outstanding business women to a readership of over 10,000.
Judging by the calibre of last year's finalists, this refreshingly different format has hit a
chord with the state's businesswomen and we are confident this program will go from strength to
strength.
Deputy Premier Anna Bligh was so impressed that she held a special reception for qbr and our
finalists and winners at Parliament House.
