September 9, 2010OAMPS Insurance Brokers has purchased Townsville-based Magnetic Insurance Solutions as part of an ongoing plan to become one of the largest insurance brokers in North Queensland.
Magnetic Insurance Solutions Principal Rob Marshall says he considered a range of options before settling on OAMPS as the best outcome for his clients.
“This move ensures they will continue to get the same great local service, supported by the resources of the largest Australian-owned insurance broker,” Marshall says.
OAMPS has been committed to meeting the insurance needs of the business community in North Queensland for over 15 years.
The acquisition of Magnetic Insurance Solutions further demonstrates commitment to this growing area of Queensland.
Northern Region Manager Scott Denning says Magnetic Insurance Solutions is a “very well run business” which complements OAMPS’ existing Townsville operation.
“Rob’s ongoing involvement with the business provides us with additional skills in the areas of transport, construction and hospitality which are complementary to our existing capabilities,” Denning says.
“I am delighted that Rob will continue to work with our Townsville Branch Manager, Kevin Strike and his team as we continue to build our profile in the local business community,” he says.
OAMPS is the second largest broker in the Queensland market and one of the largest in Australia, by number of employees.
It first opened an office in Townsville in 1992 and now has four offices across Queensland.
