RedFlow Technologies, a world leading manufacturer of high performance zinc-bromine batteries, has announced the appointment of Anne-Marie Birkill as a non-executive director.

Birkill is a General Partner in OneVentures, a $40 million venture capital fund backing innovative companies focused on clean technology, IT&T and new media and life sciences sectors.

She was previously CEO of i.lab Incubator, an $8 million Queensland Government initiative providing space, skills and business development support and early stage mentoring to technology based companies.

Peter Pursey, a current RedFlow Technologies director, has also been appointed as Chairman of the RedFlow board.

CEO Phillip Hutchings has welcomed the appointments and says this is a “very exciting time” for RedFlow.

“The fact that we can attract directors of the calibre of Anne-Marie is testament to our position in the global market for energy storage," Hutchings says.

"Her experience in successfully guiding junior companies through to maturity will be invaluable as RedFlow moves to the next phase of its development,” he says.

Hutchings says the appointment of Pursey as chairman also positions RedFlow well.

“He has extensive listed company expertise and leadership experience. His knowledge and contacts in steering companies of our size to success means he is ideally placed to lead RedFlow’s board,” he says.

RedFlow has also announced the successful closing of its latest share offer.

The equity raising was oversubscribed and RedFlow increased the size of the offer to meet investor demand.
