September 1, 2010Virgin Blue has today welcomed Sam Mostyn to the Group's Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Chairman Neil Chatfield says the appointment adds to the company’s already strong board.
"I would like to welcome Sam to the Virgin Blue Board as Non-Executive Director. Sam comes with great executive and non-executive experience across a range of large publicly listed companies, sporting and charitable organisations,” Chatfield says.
“Her expertise in the areas of HR, OH&S and sustainability will provide great counsel to the Virgin Blue Board and we look forward to working with Sam,” he says.
Mostyn is currently the Director of the Institute for Sustainable Solutions at the University of Sydney, responsible for building collaborative and cross disciplinary projects involving research excellence on a number of sustainability topics.
She has held senior executive roles in human resources, corporate and government affairs, internal communications and corporate sustainability functions at IAG.
Prior to this she held positions with Optus Communications in Sydney and Cable & Wireless Plc in London.
Mostyn joins Chatfield, CEO John Borghetti and Non-Executive Directors Mark Vaile; Rob Thomas; David Baxby; and Patrick McCall.
