Heavy haulage firm Sunstate Transport Services has entered voluntary administration.

Ferrier Hodgson is looking at ways to salvage the company that has 38 employees, about 20 prime movers and 40 trailers.

Sunstate is based at Acacia Ridge near Brisbane and runs depot in Melbourne and Brisbane.

It is understood that Sunstate had found itself overstretched after buying equipment to service a deal with Incitec Pivot and QR. The returns from the deal were not as high as expected.
