Bank of Queensland Director and Deputy Chairman Anthony Howarth has resigned from his position this week due to ‘other commitments’.
In a company statement to ASX, Howarth says the decision to step down was not an easy one to make.
“It was certainly not an easy decision, but the travel and other work and family commitments meant I had to make some changes,” he says.
“Given the Board has continued to strengthen its level of banking and financial services expertise with the introduction of some excellent additional directors in the past few years, I am confident that the governance of the Bank is in good hands.”
A replacement director and Deputy Chairman will not immediately be sought, yet BOQ says the Board “reserves the right to fill these positions in the future”.
