A Queensland-based employment services company, training firm and equipment hire business are among category winners in this year’s Australian Business Awards.
The national awards program honours organisations which demonstrate the core values of business excellence, product excellence, sustainability and commercial success in their respective industries through an established series of business and product award categories.
WorkPac – ranked 15 in QBR’s 2009 Queensland 400 – was recognised in two categories: Recommended Employer and Enterprise.
MRWED Training and Assessment – 391 in the 2009 Q400 – was also awarded a Recommended Employer award for its stimulating and supportive workplace.
Finally, equipment rental and hiring specialist Mr Rental – 290 in the 2009 Q400 – won a business award for Marketing Excellence.
Australian Business Awards Program Director, Tara Johnston, commended the achievements of all winners.
“The standard of entries for 2010 has underpinned the strength of the Australian economy and provides a welcome opportunity for organisations committed to business and product excellence to receive the recognition they deserve,” Johnston says.
“In addition to highlighting the outstanding achievements of the winning organisations in the private and public sector, we are pleased that these Awards continue to promote key values in the workplace, including corporate responsibility, enterprise, innovative business practices, community contribution, product and service excellence across all industries,” she says.
The Q400 companies were among 105 Australian Business Award recipients which received a total of 1,849 separate entries from 962 organisations.
Other Queensland organisations which took home award wins include: Ezidebit (Enterprise - Finance Services); Brisbane City Council (Innovation – Local Government); and Papyrus Australia (Innovation – Paper Product Manufacturing).
While there was no official award ceremony, every particpant had to complete written submissions with relevant evidence before moving on to the judging process earlier in the year. Award winners were announced last Friday (July 23).
