After six years on the job, Super Cheap Auto Group non-executive director Darryl McDonough will retire from his position.

As a result of his upcoming August departure, the company has invited Sally Pitkin to join the company as a non-executive director, effective July.

McDonough has been a non-executive director of Super Cheap since May 2004, prior to its listing on the ASX in July the same year.

He was a member of both the Audit & Risk and Nomination and Remuneration Committees throughout this time.

Super Cheap Auto Group’s chairman Robert Wright says the company is sad to see McDonough retire.

“The Board wishes to thank Darryl for his valuable contribution to the company and its shareholders during the past six years of growth and expansion,” he says.

According to Super Cheap, Pitkin has extensive board and corporate governance experience.

She is currently a non-executive director with Aristocrat Leisure, UniQuest, Export Finance and Insurance Corporation, ASC and CEDA.

Pitkin is also a Member for the Queensland Competition Authority and the Queensland Council of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

“The Board is fortunate to be able to gain access to Ms Pitkin’s extensive experience. Her presence on the Board will add a strong complementary skill set to the existing Directors and the Board looks forward to her contribution to the future of the Company,” Wright adds.
