The state’s tourism operators are being encouraged to nominate for the 2010 Queensland Tourism Awards.
Minister for Tourism Peter Lawlor says Queensland tourism operators are among the best in the world and should seek acknowledgement for their outstanding tours, products and services.
"Last year there were 216 nominations in the 29 categories and I encourage all tourism operators and businesses thinking of nominating to throw their hats into the ring," Lawlor says.
"You don't have to be a large, well-established operator to win - many small businesses take out awards because of their dedication, service and innovation,” he says.
"Entering gives operators the opportunity to raise the profile and reputation of their businesses and winners will automatically go through to the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.”
All types of tourism businesses are invited to enter, including events and festivals, accommodations providers, tour operators, service providers, wineries and attractions.
Nominations are now open and close on May 21.
The awards ceremony will be held in November with further details to be announced.
