December 9, 2009A Queensland first co-generation plant in Brisbane’s Green Square North Tower is one of four local projects to win Gold at the 2009
Association of Consulting Engineers Australia Awards for Excellence.
Presented at a ceremony last Friday (December 4), the innovative design earned
Floth a Gold Award in the Building Services category.
Green Square North Tower (pictured) is an A-Grade office tower within Green Square Development, one of the largest mixed use corporate office parks in Brisbane with a project value of $94 million in June, 2008.
The Tower comprises 12 levels of A-Grade office space, 600 square metres of retail space and two levels of parking.
As the ESD, mechanical and electrical consultants, Floth provided all modelling associated with the project’s energy performance outcomes and achieved a 6 Star Rating by focusing on optimising the use of existing technologies and systems.
Other Gold winners on the night include
Coffey and
Aecom, which have taken home ‘Project of the Year Award’ for their contribution to the construction of the Queensland Inner Northern Busway’s network link in Brisbane.
The South East Queensland Water Grid Interconnection earned
Kellogg Brown & Root (on behalf of Southern Regional Water Pipeline Alliance) a Gold Award in the Transport & Civil Infrastructure category.
Finally, the concept design, engineering design, construction and commissioning of a new water treatment plant at Banksia Beach on Bribie Island has earned
MWH a Gold Award in the Environmental category.
