Watpac’s civil infrastructure division has won almost $50 million worth of contracts, after securing a range of projects around Australia.

Some of the projects include a $7.2 million Talinga water treatment facility in Chinchilla, and a $6.2 million SunMetals Zinc Cake Ponds project in Townsville.

Managing Director Greg Kempton says the $50 million worth of tender wins is indicative of the strength and diversity of the civil infrastructure division.

“Within the civil infrastructure division alone we have a broad range of skills on board that have allowed us to successfully complete diverse projects across the country,” he says.

“The division undertakes a range of work, from dams to road works, rail works, bridges, civil landscaping, sub-divisions, ports, bulk earthworks, and much more.”

The Brisbane-based company is represented by five operating divisions, including: construction, civil infrastructure, mining, property and specialty services.

It recently underwent a major company restructure, which saw all of Watpac’s civil branches come together under the Watpac civil infrastructure banner.

Civil infrastructure now includes the staff and projects that previously operated under the name JMS Civil and Mining, a company Watpac acquired last July.

“Watpac has a reputation for quality and excellence that is built upon the skills and experience of our staff,” Kempton says.

“This is an exciting time for Watpac throughout Australia, and we’re looking forward to the opportunities that are ahead.”

Although based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, Watpac has offices across Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

Proving the success of its diverse services, it also has a base in Vietnam.
