Pacific Internet has partnered with Personal Broadband Australia, using its iBurst technology, to launch a wireless broadband offering. General manager, marketing, Julie Cleeland Nicholls, says PBA is the only wholesale wireless provider in Australia that can sufficiently service its customer bases' needs, with significant coverage in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Canberra. "PacNet Wireless Professional is an exciting value proposition for business and professional customers who are seeking increased productivity gains from a broadband connection that's completely mobile, always on and affordable," she says. Pacific Internet has made a significant impact in the small to medium business market in Australia, now servicing more than 20,000 corporate customers, and it expects wireless to bring more convenience to this market segment. Raine and Horne Queensland, one of its key customers with more than 100 real estate franchisees, recognises the business benefits associated with wireless broadband. Queensland CEO Stephen Sharry says: "Real estate agents are always out of the office so need wireless Internet access from their car or home to check property details, receive client emails and to access business systems. With Pacific Internet as our communications partner we look forward to offering this service to all of our franchisees." Using an iBurst modem, with competitive prices starting at $274, the PacNet Wireless Professional range offers speeds up to 1MB with different data options. Depending on the plan selected, prices range from $29.95 to $199.95 a month, with a $64.50 set-up fee on a one-year contract. PacNet Wireless Professional customers also have a dial-up connection for use when outside the iBurst coverage areas.
