Its training programs help give others the edge, now a Cairns company will be able to improve its own operational systems with the help of state government funding. Member for Cairns Desley Boyle says McLeod Training Organisation has received $9,490 to help improve its efficiency in delivering training programs. The company's programs are used in the forestry, horticultural, business, tourism and sport and recreation industries. It operates throughout Asia Pacific and South America but the funding will help expand its client base even further. "The company has established a strong client base which includes AusAid, USAID and URS Forestry, one of the largest specialist forest sector companies in the world," Boyle says. "They also provide assistance to a number of local councils, TAFE Colleges and private sector firms here in Australia." Director Ian McLeod says the company is keen to expand even further. "We realise that using innovative techniques will increase the efficiency and competitiveness of our operational systems," he says. "This will help us to gain market share in our existing markets, increase our product range and establish new markets."
