The search for the state's top training achievers began this week, with the opening of nominations in the 2005 Queensland Training Awards. Minister for Employment, Training and Industrial Relations Tom Barton says the awards are an excellent way to recognise the efforts of those who have made significant contributions towards the skilling of Queensland. "Employers, students, training providers, public sector agencies and indigenous organisations all have the opportunity to receive recognition and reward for their dedication to and achievements in training," he says. In 2004, an impressive 835 nominations were received across 14 categories state-wide. Three organisations and one individual from Queensland later went on to win accolades at the prestigious Australian Training Awards. Nominations close on April 8.
