Mining supplies company Ausenco last night was named Queensland's Top Exporter of the Year at the Premier of Queensland's Export Awards held in Brisbane.
Formed in 1991, the company - which also picked up the services category award - has grown to become a global supplier of good and services to the mining industry, with offices in Brisbane, Perth, the US and Beijing.
It provides pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, multi-disciplinary detailed engineering design and project services, management, cost control and scheduling.
Business development manager Wayne Anderson says growth has seen the business double employee numbers over the past three years, primarily on the basis of exports.
"Our south east Asian market has expanded from one project to more 11 in three years, with a total project value of over $3 billion sustainable over the next four years," he says.
