Awards were presented in categories reflecting family generation. The winners are:
  • First generation: MAB Corporation, a Melbourne-based property development company covering residential, retail, commercial, industrial, marinas and serviced apartments.
  • Second Generation: C-Direct, an Ivanhoe-based wholesale distributor of goods and services nation-wide, employing 30 people, including four family members.
  • Third Generation: Costa's, a Geelong-based producer of fresh produce employing 764 staff, including 15 family members.
  • Fourth Generation: Flemings Nursery, a Monbulk-based wholesaler nursery employing 110 staff, including five family members.
The four winners, who each received a $500 cheque from the Commonwealth Bank, will go on to represent Victoria at the national Family Business of the Year Awards to be held in Sydney in October.
