The Victorian government will provide $200,000 to provide much-needed infrastructure at Colac's Forest Street Industrial Estate. State and Regional Development Minister, John Brumby, says the grant will facilitate new investments in the region, including a $15 million expansion by Regal Cream Products. Regal Cream's proposed expansion has the potential to increase capacity five-fold and will create between 10 and 15 new full-time jobs in the short-term. Work to be undertaken as part of the project includes extension of natural gas infrastructure to serve the southern portion of the estate and the construction of a street to service the estate from the west. The grant will be delivered through the Council and Regional Development Body Program and is being provided to Colac Otway Shire Council on a dollar-for-dollar basis.
