The deadline for making a submission to the review of Victoria's retail tenancy laws has been extended to November 23.
The announcement follows the recent release of a discussion paper that contains draft recommendations for public comment. The new deadline gives landlords and tenants an extra two weeks to make a submission to the review compared to the original date of November 9.
"We want to make sure that interested parties, in particular small businesses, have ample opportunity to comment on these important proposals," Small Business Minister Marsha Thomson says.
Thomson adds the Department of State & Regional Development will hold workshops on November 14 and 15 with key stakeholders, to work on achieving two critical aims of the review – reasonable security of tenure and effective disclosure statements.
Those interested in providing comments on the discussion paper have until November 23 to lodge a submission.
