About Us

Queensland really is different – and so too is QBR.

QBR is not a traditional business newspaper or magazine; nor is it a modern-day online aggregator of other people’s news.

What we at QBR do is focus on delivering the news, information and inspiration that Queensland business operators want and need – via the most effective medium available – and to the highest quality possible.

So for news as it happens, QBR leverages the speed of the web to deliver breaking business and industry news across the day, backed by a Daily News Bulletin bringing together the big stories and delivered direct into the inboxes of the owners and managers of the State’s leading small to medium-sized enterprises.

And for the deeper information about operational and strategic issues QBR employs a unique mix of targeted special publications and events.

It may be different, but it works.

The shift in focus to online delivery of daily business news has seen website traffic double – and still growing at almost 200 percent on a rolling month’s basis. Internal research shows 85 percent of QBR readers are owners or senior managers of businesses employing 5-500 staff.

A new website featuring a raft of new features – including video, events diaries and photo galleries, regular polls and discussion forums – will drive traffic even higher.

And QBR’s world-class stable of special publications and events continues to deliver large audiences and acclaim from attendees.

The prestigious Q400 Awards – the culmination of a year-long program that recognises and celebrates the State’s leading private business owners – was opened by Premier Anna Bligh last October before a record 450 of our most successful entrepreneurs.

For the State’s female entrepreneurs, QBR’s Women in Business program remains Queensland’s premier education and networking group for business women, with our regular breakfast and luncheon events attracting an average of 250 mostly women, and the gala annual Women in Business Awards dinner drawing more than 200 of the State’s leading female business owners and managers.

And The Book of Lists, Queensland’s leading business-to-business directory, continues to be recognised as the most amazing source of information on the State’s leading businesses across more than 60 categories, from accountants to workplace health and safety consultants.
